Blogger disappointed nobody noticed that she stopped blogging for two years

DUBAI: A blogger in Dubai has spoken of her disappointment that her self-imposed two-year hiatus from blogging failed to raise a single iota of response from the online community.

Poppy DeWitte, 25, said she was initially understanding when absolutely nobody reacted to her post in February 2011 that said that she would be “taking a break” from her fashion and lifestyle blog ‘Poppy’s Magical Garden’. But the freelance stylist and Lomography fan admitted she had been hoping for “quite a noise from the blogosphere” when she returned to her online publishing duties last week.

Sadly, her post entitled ‘Poppy’s Back!!!!’, in which she apologised for her absence and gave a brief run down of her activities, has – at the time of going to press – not been read by a single other person, despite repeated attempts to promote it across Facebook and Twitter.

“I must admit, it’s rather frustrating,” she said. “I mean, I like totally get the anger and shock that must have been felt when I dropped the bomb back then. But to still hold a grudge two years on is just ridiculous.”

But DeWitte says she’s confident the readers will flock to her blog once she starts uploading pictures of the “hottest new looks” that she sees on other fashion websites.
