Branches of TGI Friday’s across Saudi Arabia welcome weekend change

RIYADH: Businesses across Saudi Arabia have praised the recent decision to move the official weekend from Thursday-Friday to Friday-Saturday, but arguably the biggest cheers have come from the kingdom’s numerous branches of US-themed diner TGI Friday’s.

“We’re expecting our numbers to significantly pick up after several years after pretty disappointing sales,” said Agnes Pallegnon, marketing director of TGI Friday’s KSA. “I mean, who really wants to celebrate the end of the weekend? We might as well have called ourselves TGI Moving House Day or TGI First Day Back At Work After A Long Holiday.”
