British expat’s visiting mother not about to let 45 degrees stop her sunbathing all day

DUBAI, UAE: The holidaying mother of a British expat living in Dubai has vowed to keep up her daily five-hour sunbathing routine in the face of the Gulf’s extreme summer temperatures.

“The flights were a little on the cheap side, so I should have realised something was up,” Janice Breadbury, 52, told reporters while lying beside the pool, sweat cascading down her face under the intense 45-degree midday heat.

“But I told myself I was going to have a nice holiday in the sun and a holiday in the sun is what I’m going to have, even if it is a bit hard to breathe sometimes.”
