AMMAN: Despite having vowed to give up on his beloved Manchester United after last season’s disappointing results, devoted Jordanian fan Ali Mansour has now revealed he will give the team “one more year” to prove to him that he shouldn’t move his unwavering support elsewhere.
“I really thought that was it last time when we came seventh,” he said, adding that he was seriously considering switching his allegiances. “I couldn’t go to Manchester City or Liverpool, that would be criminal, but Chelsea were looking good, or even Arsenal.”
But Mansour claims that following recent reports of new manager Louis Van Gaal’s coaching methods and a new buzz in the strengthened squad, he’s willing to put his faith in United once more.
“But the scars of last season remain and it’s not something I want to go through again,” he cautioned. “My steadfast adoration of United will be through once and for all if we emerge once again without a trophy at the end the season. Or at Christmas if it’s already fallen apart by then.”
