Expat “Shocked” to Discover Holiday Back Home Coincides Exactly with Whole of Ramadan

An expat woman in Dubai has revealed her shock and disappointment at discovering that her holiday plans coincide exactly with the dates of Ramadan.

“I honestly just found out and I’m really upset,” said Sarah Rollinston, speaking at Dubai airport as she waited to depart on a month-long vacation.

“When I booked this holiday last month, I had no idea that spending three weeks in the UK visiting family and friends, then heading to Spain with my sister for four days before flying to Ibiza for three days and then heading back to Dubai would clash with Ramadan almost to the exact hour. I would have really loved to have been here to experience the holy month.”
