The latest edition of the popular FIFA video game franchise will, according to leaked reports, feature a secret side game in which players can attempt to recreate the “exhilarating and edge-of-the-seat” experience of Diego Maradona’s recent managerial career in the UAE.
FIFA 13, which is due to be released next week, has already attracted widespread regional praise with the news that it will include the Saudi Premier League. But the latest update has been billed by one fan online as “the ultimate treat for local gamers”.
The side game will reportedly give players one season in charge of Dubai-based Al Wasl FC, during which time the aim will be to lose as many games as possible and fail to achieve success in any of the cup competitions. An extra bonus year as “special sports envoy” will be unlocked if players can get their goalkeeper sent off for headbutting an opponent.
