Just hours after Apple announced its entry into the world wearable technology, specialist counterfeit watch stores across the region revealed that they would have the first stocks of the new Aqqle Watch on sale by next week.
“I put the order with my Chinese suppliers through immediately and am hoping for the shipment to arrive by Monday or Tuesday,” revealed Mohammed Fahdi of the Dubai-based Mohammed & Sons Hi-Tech Electronics and Fancy Watch stall in Karama, adding that he’d already had “quite a few” enquiries.
“The arrival of the Aqqle Watch is a hugely exciting time for imitation timepiece enthusiasts,” said Ali al-Ghunta, manager of Beirut’s Happy Clock Center.
“But rather than disrupting an already vibrant market, I see the Aqqle sitting comfortably alongside Rolaxes, Casiqs, Siekos and Omagas already on offer, and with its unique digital crown controlling mechanism and heart-rate monitoring abilities, this fashion-forward and practical device should quickly become a must-have among collector’s and fitness fanatics alike. Until it stops working after about two weeks. Sorry no refunds.”
