Iran hoping Xerxes in latest 300 film isn’t quite so, well, you know

Country awaiting to see if depiction of Persian King is as, well, limp-wristed

TEHRAN: Iranian leaders have expressed their hopes that the upcoming sequel to historic action drama 300 features a slightly less flamboyant representation of Persian King Xerxes.

“I mean, he’s one of the most famous figures in Persian history, a destroyer of cities, and in the last film you’ve got him as this limp-wristed, near naked, mincing great, well, you know,” said Professor Abbas Rahmani of the Iranian Academy of the Arts.

“It would be great if in 300: Rise of an Empire, this leader of vast conquering armies wasn’t sporting tiny gold pants or eyeliner, and was perhaps more of a Daniel Craig, Dwayne Johnson or George Clooney-like figure. Actually, no, not George Clooney, a mate says he’s heard.. ah, never mind.”
