Israel reluctantly accelerates settlement programme following suspension of peace talks

TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night announced that had “no choice” but to ramp-up the expansion of Jewish settlements across the West Bank following his withdrawal from peace talks.

“Having suspended peace negotiations with the Palestinians, it is now with a heavy heart that I approve the construction of 350,000 new Jewish-only homes,” he said in a statement.

“Despite my devoted commitment to the peace process, I sadly now have no option but to green-light a radical acceleration of the settlement programme and make plans for widespread death and destruction through bombing campaigns and full-scale ground invasions.”

The notion that Netanyahu was ever devoted to the peace process is risible. His state was born out of terrorism and his policy of stealing Palestinian land for his ‘settlers’ has a genocidal quality for which history will never forgive him
