Leading Middle East think tank stolen from Downtown Beirut

BEIRUT: According to reports from Lebanon, a leading Middle East think tank was stolen this morning from central Beirut.

The Carnegie Middle East Center of Lebanon, which is believed to have been left with the keys in the ignition outside a fast food restaurant on Hamra Street, was taken around 10.05am.

There have since been reported sightings of the armoured policy institute around Nejmeh Square and the Gemmayzeh district.

As yet, nobody has been blamed, although sources suggest it’s more likely to be academic joyriders than a political or religious group.
