Die-hard Barcelona fans across Middle East weighing up options for next season

Devoted supporters seen dusting off 1980s Liverpool shirts

Thousands of devoted Barcelona supporters across the region are reportedly considering their choice of team for next season. The new comes following the Spanish club’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey final last night and a week in which they have crashed out of Europe and lost ground in the domestic league.

“It’s really upsetting, especially considering my obvious next choice would have been Manchester United,” said Fadi Mangan, head of the Amman Barcelona Supporters Club in Jordan.

However, many Barcelona fans have agreed that it would be too soon to switch to arch-rivals Real Madrid.

“I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens over the coming weeks,” said Mohammed Bokura, a die-hard Barcelona fan in Beirut, who added that he still had several Liverpool football shirts from his time supporting the team in the late 80s.

“Sure, I might have bulked a touch out since then, but with a bit of effort they could still fit,” he laughed.

    With some people, whatever they touch turns to gold. However, when the Qataris touch anything it turns to shit. See what happened to Barcelona, the English Premier league broadcast in the middle east, the world cup in 2022. If barca change their sponsor, they may win something!
