Middle East tourism expected to receive boost following final presidential debate

“All publicity is good publicity,” says tour operator.

FLORIDA: Tourism chiefs across the Middle East are expecting a surge in interest in the region from the US following last night’s final presidential debate.

As predicted, regional issues dominate much of the talk on US foreign policy in Florida, and with millions of Americans tuning in to watch Barack Obama and Mitt Romney square off for the last time before polls open in just over two weeks, Middle East tour operators are said to be overjoyed with the free marketing.

“As they say, all publicity is good publicity,” said Thandie Foxtrot of Arab World Happy Tours. “And man, those guys talked about the Middle East a whole lot. We’ve taken a load more staff on to cope with the calls.”
