Miley Cyrus finally dropped as face of Saudi Islamic Bank

Singer’s performance on stage at MTV awards seen as “final straw”

RIYADH: The fallout from Miley Cyrus’ weekend antics at the MTV EMA awards continues to spread with the news that controversial US pop singer has now been dropped as the face of Saudi Islamic Bank.

Cyrus was seen smoking was appeared to be a ‘rolled up joint’ on stage in Amsterdam while collecting her award for Best Video for Wrecking Ball, a move a source at the bank claimed was “the final straw”. Bank sites across Saudi Arabia have already begun removing Miley Cyrus-branded signage from their store fronts.

“Saudi Islamic Bank has decided to end its association with Ms Cyrus,” the bank said in a statement. “We would like to thank the star for her support over the years in helping promote our range of Sharia-compliant investment products and wish her well in her future endeavours.”

Due to contract stipulations, the bank will continue to offer its Miley Cyrus Islamic Home Savings Plan for the next six months.

Nooooooooo!!!!!!! That’s it! I’m closing my account with SIB today! I don’t mind their ridiculously high bank charges as Miley is the voice of many generations and also the spawn of an achy breaky heart. BRING BACK MILEY!
….”Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
    It’s the climb”

    Keep the faith MC

The reason Saudi Islamic bank actually used Miley Cyrus was because of her Hannah Montana character which had a very famous song “Its the best of both worlds”. The Saudi bank believed that in keeping with islamic principles and conventional banking, they would get the best of both worlds.

I’ve checked, and there’s nothing on the Saudi Islamic Bank website page to say that they are dropping her ???

Sadly they are dropping her but the good news they’ve given the contract to Rihanna! What could possibly go wrong?

Reality is… Well the unknown reality is, SIB dropped her because of her song ‘Drive’ : Drive my heart into the night
You could drop the keys off in the morning
    I don’t wanna leave home
    Without your love
    Without it..

It seems they even got pictures of her, driving her black SUV.

Obviously the public communiqué referred to the reason she was ‘rolling a joint and smoking’ as this obviously is easier to pass and milder to swallow than the Drive lyrics…

It could be that her Wrecking Ball video has given some n’er-do-wells ideas about how to rob their bank.
