Nelly to Perform at Official VAT Launch Party in Dubai

In a bid to drum up support for the implementation of VAT across the UAE, authorities have employed the services of one of music’s biggest stars.

Nelly, the US rap legend and the man behind Hot In Herre, Ride Wit Me and countless other classics, will be jetting into Dubai to headline the city’s official launch party for Value Added Tax being held on January 1.

“I love the UAE, so to be able to be there as it introduces this groundbreaking 5% tax on consumption is a dream come true,” Nelly said in a statement.

Organisers of the event said that they were “absolutely delighted” Nelly would be gracing the stage to help usher in VAT, adding that more “major international names” would be added in the coming weeks.
