Post on ‘UAE Journalists’ Facebook Page Barely-Concealed Extensive Holiday Freebie Request

A Dubai-based journalist’s post on the popular ‘UAE Journalists’ Facebook group page is nothing more than a barely-concealed extensive holiday blag itinerary, according to reports.

The post from Gina McEwan, published yesterday, put out a request for the PR details of “anyone at Sri Lanka airways, a couple of 5-star hotels in Colombo and one of the awesome beach resorts, a cool chilled spa and several yummy high-end restaurants. Oh, and any other amazing places to visit and review out there in late Feb/early March.”

Within minutes of going online, the post – which landed almost a year to the day McEwan made a similar request entitled “Looking for PR contacts for review of luxury weekends breaks for two in Oman, ideally March 16-19” – was answered by numerous individuals working in the public relations industry offering information.

Despite repeated requests, McEwan is yet to reveal when her publication, Arabian Plumber, will be launching its long-awaited travel section.
