Authorities hit back at critics of Doha’s new twin car parking domes

DOHA: Officials in Qatar have struck back against critics of the city’s new twin car parking domes, insisting that the buildings “are decent, tasteful and in no way suggestive.”
“What’s wrong with people?” asked architect Omar Al-Quain, standing in front of the large, rounded twin structures, each of which is topped with a small, prominent transmission aerial. “The domes offer a state-of-the-art parking facility, in a structure inspired by traditional bedouin tents. They represent the breast of our city’s architectural vision.”
“Best. Best,” he corrected himself. “Why do I keep doing that?”
