AMMAN: Queen Rania set out her credentials as the most fashionable royal in the world as she welcomed Pope Francis and his message of humility to Jordan on Saturday.
During the pontiff’s moving sermon on selflessness, the queen looked resplendent in a stunning Dior gown, complete with exquisite accessories, including matching De Beers 24ct diamond drop earrings which sparkled in the Amman sunshine.
The simple elegance of the bespoke dress, flown in from Paris for the occasion, blended effortlessly with the Pope’s reminder of Jesus’ message to love the poor.
But it was as Francis appealed to the assembled audience in the Jordanian capital to follow in the messiah’s humble footsteps that Rania truly grabbed the fashion headlines, revealing a limited edition patent calfskin Chanel clutch, one of just six created.
“She looked delightful,” said Dima Mode. “I couldn’t take my eyes off her all through Pope Francis’ speech thing.”
