The remaining Saudi princes, politicians and businessmen being detained at the luxury Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh are to be forced to fight it out to earn their release.

More than 200 were arrested as part of a corruption clampdown in November, and while several have been allowed to leave, those still left in the five-star facility are to take part in a bloody last-man-standing battle in order to be granted their freedom.

“We’re encouraging our guests to use whatever they can get their hands on to win, but we’ll also be scattering some weaponry liberally around the building,” said Saudi Arabia’s attorney general.

“Whoever emerges from the Ritz-Carlton as the last person alive will be released without charge and allowed to keep hold of their billions.”

The event, dubbed ‘Battle Royal Family’, is due to start in the coming days. MBC is reportedly negotiating for live TV rights.
