Returning Dubai expat “gutted” to have missed all 30 days of Ramadan
Scottish woman blames packed schedule with friends and family for being away for exact length of holy month
With Ramadan having drawn to a close for another year on Friday evening, a Scottish expat has revealed her disappointment at returning to Dubai having missed the entire holy month.
“Yet again, through complicated scheduling with friends and family back home, not to mention flights that I booked long, long in advance, I appear to have landed back in the Middle East just as Ramadan ends, almost exactly a month to the day since I left on June 18 right before it began,” said Sophie McNalty, 34.
“It’s such a shame as I’ve heard so many great things about it. Oh well, maybe next year!”
