A groggy Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman woke up Tuesday morning to discover that, during late night revelries in Hollywood the night before, he put his name down to executive produce and finance a $400 million live-action Care Bears reboot.
Having touched down in Los Angeles Monday, the Saudi royal was a special guest at a reception hosted by Rupert Murdoch and also attended by numerous Hollywood execs. But Salman is believed to have carried on to a series of after-parties, where “things got out of hand,” according to a source in his entourage.
“I remember we were in a club and there was dancing… lots of dancing… and then a cab ride to some guy’s flat… Dave I think,” a bleary-eyed Salman told reporters at a press conference, holding aloft an official contract which states his commitment to fully-finance the Care Bears feature film.
“I honestly have absolutely no idea about this… but that is definitely my signature… next to the drinks stain, which I believe to be Jim Beam.”
