As part of his quest to find the perfect idyllic holiday retreat, a Saudi man has said he is now scouring parts of London’s upmarket Knightsbridge district for an unspoiled patch to rev his Bugatti Veyron.
“I just want a little peaceful block to call my own,” Muhammed Wasl told reporters. “You know, somewhere I can sit and relax in my $2 million limited edition Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, shipped over to UK especially for the summer, and rev its eight litre engine to my hearts content without the tranquility being ruined by another Saudi national revving his Bugatti Veyron nearby.”
While Wasl admitted that the growing popularity of Knightsbridge as a summer destination for Saudis revving Bugatti Veyrons meant that finding a secluded, unspoiled patch was becoming increasingly difficult, he said he was sure his “Shangri-La” was out there.
“It’s all about finding a short strip of road away from the main tourist spots where I can really unwind, where I can rev – and perhaps even backfire – my Veyron and let everyone within earshot appreciate my wealth without someone else in another Veyron competing for attention. Is that really too much to ask for?”
