A great step in the right direction. Observers also applauded the conference visible nonconformity and openness to change.

This is outrageous. I believe woman worldwide should have the right to tell
men to put the toilet seat down.

    What seat?

This is shameful but unfortunately typical – Institutionalized misogyny at its most blatant. There are no women in the congress! Until women have an equal say in political and social life, and special accommodation is made to include not just women, but other marginalised groups (religious minorities, political prisoners, migrant workers etc.) in a meaningful way, shams like this will continue to be perpetuated.

    @Ash: Ha! Ha! Ha!

What does a man do standing up, a woman do sitting down, and a dog do on three legs.

This cant be true. The guy with the blue check shirt in the third row from the front has been photoshopped into this picture.

Also – The dude on the far right corner is picking his nose.

What next? Will they ban women from driving alone?

    • Matthias Weiss November 27, 2013 at 2:57 pm

I sure hope so! Research (by prominent Saudi clerics) has shown that sitting in the driver’s seat of a moving car can cause problems with the female pelvic region, particularly the ovaries. These problems can easily be avoided by sitting in the passenger seat, where the hands can rest comfortably in one’s lap.

Leave it up…. put it down. Whatever. I always put both toilet seats down, then both men and women have to touch the germ infested toilet. Lol ;)

They are all women there, can’t you see they’re wearing dresses, or they are all transvestites

Last time I want to Saudi most of the toilets were those holes in the floor, you know the ones with the footprints on either side! Is aright if your wearing a dish dash but try keeping your pants out of the line of fire, not easy!

The guy on the right, third row from the front, clearly didn’t get the dresscode email…

A few quiet words about sitting demurely with your knees together wouldn’t go amiss

  16. Graham Orr January 19, 2014 at 8:02 am

Due to the design of arabic toilets, very few men have turn-ups at the bottom of the trouser leg.

    They all look like Yoda!

  18. debandskippydoo February 8, 2014 at 3:29 pm

Don’t they all have to sit? I mean seems it would be rather difficult for the gentlemen to do their business standing while wearing such long robes, what the heck do they do with them? I mean seriously they have 2 hands and both I would think would be needed for holding their garb up, therefore they would need to sit or have a lot of messes to clean…Yuck!

Plus, the guy 3rd on the right , first row from center is clearly in advanced stages of rigor…
