Self-professed mall hating expat cited in expansion of Al Wahda Mall

ABU DHABI: Developers behind the dramatic expansion of Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda Mall have cited a self-professed mall hating expat as the inspiration behind the reason to double the shopping facilities’ size.

The man, who hasn’t been named, apparently went to the mall begrudgingly in January to pick up “some stuff” from Boots pharmacy, and ended up spending several hours eating in Fudruckers and getting a drink from Starbucks.

“When we saw the movements of this individual, we knew we had to expand,” said one of the development team.
