Steven Gerrard considering lucrative move to UAE football club before getting bored and leaving after a few months

Liverpool legend reportedly eyeing up short-lived, disappointing spell at Middle East football club

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is reportedly eyeing up a well-paid, short-lived move to the UAE when his contract ends this summer.

The former England captain, who announced earlier today that he would be leaving the club he first joined aged nine, is said to be a target for several UAE football clubs, who are hoping to make a noisy media spectacle in bringing the 34-year-old to the Middle East before quietly letting him go when he gets bored around November after a few disappointing months.

Although nothing has yet been confirmed, the news is already creating a buzz among football fans across the UAE.

“I’m not a Liverpool supporter, but would still love to see Gerrard in action,” said Al-Ahli fan Mohammed Al-Farooq. “Trouble is, I’ve got a holiday booked for the end of September, so he might have already left by the time I get back.”
