Robin Van Persie deal causes confusion among Middle East football fans

Football fans across the Middle East have been left in disarray following the news that Robin Van Persie is set to move from Arsenal to Manchester United in a £23 million deal.

“Like many of my devoted football mad friends, I immediately switched allegiances from United to City at the end of last season,” said Bassam al-Lardyce, a 30-year-old Jordanian in Amman. “But now Van Persie is going to United, it looks like the Premiership title could be heading back to Old Trafford.
