The 93-minute film also features the sound of hundreds of Egyptians laughing.
Egypt has made a bold offering to the next Academy Awards, submitting a video of Sergio Ramos crying as its next entry to the Foreign Language category.
The 93-minute film, entitled HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, comes from director Yousry Nasrallah, and features a TV clip of the Spanish footballer in tears after Spain lost to Russia in the World Cup play-offs, looped over 400 times and with the sound of several hundred Egyptians laughing over the top.
Variety described the film as “captivating” and “worth repeat views.”
